Paradise
“We stayed as a family of 4 and loved Patons Rock Beach Villas. It is immaculate inside and out. It is so peaceful surrounded by the beautiful gardens and just a short stroll around the corner to the most lovely beach. Can’t wait to return!”
Worth the Detour
“Excellent location close to a beach and just a few kilometres out of town. The villa’s are nicely located and built with love, set in a beautiful garden. We were in villa 4 and have truly enjoyed our stay.”
Great place to stay
“The villa was very clean and roomy and in a beautiful setting. Close to the beach and the township of Tākaka. We loved staying there and would highly recommend it. We went with our two grandchildren so being close to the beach was great. It also felt very private.”

Five start motels with beautiful grounds
“Spacious, well appointed units with beautiful grounds. Just a 5 minute walk from the beach. The eels in the stream under the footbridge are fascinating to watch. These motels have to be up there with the best in the country.”
Gold standard in Golden Bay
“Roomy, clean and comfortable with beautiful grounds and close to the beach. The family didn’t feel like we were tripping over each other. Kim and Wade were professional, thoughtful and obliging hosts. Highly recommended.”
Second time – even better
“We stayed here for the second time in four years. The villas had new furniture and curtains. It was clean and there was a bbq for each villa. After our arrival they bring us a ‘bag’ full with breakfast-items. The villas are 10 km from Takaka, so you must do your shopping there. The villas are situated near the beach (5 min. walk) on a peacefull road. We have enjoyed our stay again.”

“First time to this relaxing area. Great location, was handy to every thing we wanted to do; including a leisurely 5mins walk to a lovely shallow beach. The villas were lovely, modern surrounded by beautiful gardens.”
Lovely Rural Location
“These villas are absolutely delightful and a real find. They are situated rurally on a side road between Takaka and Collingwood and very close to a beautiful beach. The other reviews posted are spot on.”
The perfect place to stay in Golden Bay
“Really wonderful accommodation. Terrific walk-in tiled shower. Tranquil and beautiful inside and out. Everything you need is provided, good size fridge, air conditioning, gas bbq, kingsize bed. This is the place to get your mojo back, kickback relax and soak in the beauty of the beaches. Night sky is worth enjoying too, we watched loads of the Elon Musk satellites fly past in a perfect line. And don’t forget to take a look at the eels under the bridge. This place is really great make sure you book at least a few days to really make the most of everything on offer here.”

“Lovely surroundings, short walk to the beach, great standard of accommodation – we really loved our 3 nights here and would love to return as we didn’t get to do all we wanted to. Pupu Springs, Wainui Falls, grove walk, Farewell Spit tour all highlights. Enjoyed the Wholemeal cafe in Takaka – several times!”

Great place… We will be back
“This was our second visit to Patons Rock Beach Villas and won’t be our last. The villas are modern, well appointed, roomy and very clean. Set in a tranquil park like setting with all day sun and great outdoor bbq, socialising area. My 15 year old son was amazed at how peaceful and quiet it was. Only a few minutes walk to the beautiful beach. This is a great place to base yourself while exploring the amazing Golden Bay region.”
